“”"Visual Defficient and Pharmaceutical Care”". The difficulties faced by visual deficient are countless and one of them is the use of medicines. The poor access to the information on pharmaceutical products and diseases is a fact that contribute to inadequate use of drugs. The aim of this study was to create data base about Cytoskeletal Signaling inhibitor special needs of visual deficient that allows the definition of strategies to development of the Pharmaceutical Care to this group. This study was conducted from February to August 2007 in the visual deficient association called Associacao Alianca, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Written informed

consent was obtained from all participants before their enrollment in the study. It was qualitative study in exploratory level. Survey data were collected through recorded interviews from thirty male participants aged between 18 to 89 years. The interviews followed a subject route previously established. The difficulty of administration of some pharmaceutical forms was one of the principal drug-related problems (DRPs) found in this group. Strategies were defined to development of the Pharmaceutical Care to this group as follow: evaluation of the needs, expectations and priorities of

the visual deficient; efficient communication to create trust and friendship; counseling and educational and motivational health programs including visual deficients and their family; action of multidisciplinary team with humanistic vision.”
“To evaluate the potential role of DNA repair in bladder carcinogenesis, we performed an immunohistochemical analysis of expression of various DNA repair enzymes and gamma-H2AX, a high-sensitivity marker of DNA double-strand breaks, selleck in the urothelium of male F344 rats treated with N-butyl-N-(4-hydroxybutyl)-nitrosamine (BBN), a bladder-specific carcinogen. Our results clearly demonstrated that gamma-H2AX aggregation was specifically generated in nuclei of bladder epithelial cells of BBN-treated rats, which was not found in untreated controls or mesenchymal cells. gamma-H2AX-positive cells were detected not only in hyperplastic and neoplastic areas but also in the normal-like urothelium after BBN treatment. These data indicate that gamma-H2AX has potential as a useful biomarker for early detection of genotoxicity in the rat urinary bladder. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report demonstrating expression of gamma-H2AX during bladder carcinogenesis.
