This study examined patient and caregiver perspectives on the use of chemotherapy and immunotherapy for treating advanced breast cancer, utilizing data from social media.
Social media posts from US patients with advanced breast cancer (BC) and their caregivers, spanning January 2015 to April 2021, were gathered. For this analysis, English-language posts geolocated within the United States, collected from publicly available sources such as social media platforms (like Twitter) and forums (like patient association forums), were selected. Two researchers qualitatively analyzed posts mentioning any chemotherapy or immunotherapy regimen to categorize treatment perceptions (positive, negative, mixed, or no perception).
The investigation encompassed 80 posts by 69 patients and 142 posts by 127 caregivers concerning chemotherapy. These postings originated from a public social media footprint encompassing 39 distinct sites. The sentiment towards chemotherapy among advanced breast cancer patients and their caregivers leaned significantly more towards negativity (36%) than positivity (7%). Milestone scores for pediatric fellows who entered fellowship training between July 2017 and July 2020 were assessed using descriptive statistics in this retrospective cohort study. Residency (R) concluded with the acquisition of milestone scores, which were subsequently obtained at the halfway point of the first fellowship year (F1) and again at the culmination of the first fellowship year (F2).

In a combined effort between Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and the University of Maryland (UM), using both complementary and collaborative approaches, a series of clinical activities in the preclerkship medical gross anatomy labs was created and implemented. These activities forged a clear connection between the dissected structures and clinical procedures. Laboratory dissection sessions provide the setting for students to perform simulated clinically-related procedures on anatomic donors, as directed by these activities. Clinical Exercises at UM and OpNotes at VCU are the terms used to describe these activities. Fifteen minutes of group activity conclude each scheduled laboratory session in the VCU OpNotes program; students' responses, recorded through a web-based assessment form, are subsequently evaluated by the faculty.
