Two focus groups were brought together, consisting of physicians and allied health professionals with significant experience in primary care, asthma, and electronic medical records. One focus group's composition also involved a patient participant. Focus groups used a semi-structured discussion format to identify and evaluate the best methods for integrating asthma eTools into electronic medical record systems. Through the Microsoft Teams platform (Microsoft Corp.), participants engaged in web-based discussions. Through a first focus group, the integration of asthma indicators into electronic medical records (EMRs) was explored with electronic tools; participants subsequently completed a questionnaire to assess the clarity, relevance, and feasibility of collecting point-of-care asthma performance indicator data. The second focus group scrutinized the integration of eTools for asthma management within the primary care environment, supplemented by a questionnaire assessing the perceived usefulness of different eTools. A thematic qualitative analysis process was used to examine and interpret the focus group discussions that were recorded. Descriptive quantitative analysis was used in the assessment of the focus group questionnaire's results.
Seven key themes emerged from the qualitative analysis of the two focus groups: the design of outcome-focused tools, building trust with stakeholders, facilitating open communication channels, placing the end-user first, striving for efficiency, ensuring adaptability, and developing solutions within current processes. To supplement the findings, twenty-four asthma indicators were assessed concerning clarity, relevance, feasibility, and general utility. After careful consideration, five asthma performance indicators were determined to be the most relevant. The programs included assistance with quitting smoking, monitoring using objective measures, the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations, evaluating asthma control, and having an asthma action plan in place. The research aims to ascertain whether oocyte stimulation success in fertility preservation differs based on the stage of lymphoma. In a retrospective cohort study, Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) was the focus of observation. In the period spanning from 2006 to 2017, a sample of 89 patients, diagnosed with lymphoma and having contacted the NMH FP navigator, had their anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels and the success of their fertility treatments documented for analysis. Using chi-squared and analysis of variance procedures, the data were analyzed. In order to account for possible confounding variables, a regression analysis was also performed. Of the 89 FP navigator contacts, the staging breakdown was as follows: 12 (13.5%) had stage 1 lymphoma, 43 (48.3%) had stage 2, 13 (14.6%) had stage 3, 13 (14.6%) had stage 4, and 8 (9.0%) had missing staging data. Forty-five patients experienced ovarian stimulation prior to their scheduled cancer treatment. In patients undergoing ovarian stimulation, the mean AMH level was 262, and the median peak estradiol levels were a notable 17720pg/mL.
